Summer Entertainment Series

Another exciting season of outdoor concerts, movies and storytelling is set to kick off when the award-winning Kannapolis Summer Entertainment Series returns in April.

The fun begins April 25 with the first installment in the Stories Under the Stars series. Co-sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department and the Cabarrus County Library – Kannapolis Branch, Stories Under the Stars features traditional, musical and theatrical storytelling as well as a host of other family-friendly literary programs.

May 7 marks the launch of the brand new Thursdays on Main concert series. Enjoy live acoustic music on the lawn at Veterans Park from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. each Thursday during May and June. Lunch will be available for purchase from on-site vendors, or you may bring your own.

From May 30 through August 15, the Village Park amphitheater will host weekend concerts including two performances by the Charlotte Symphony, a day of beach music and regional favorite Too MUCH Sylvia.

For movie fans, Village Park is also the place to be on Friday evenings for showings of blockbuster feature films such as “WALL-E,” “Bolt” and “Footloose” on the 40’x20’ Time Warner big screen.
