Solid Waste Collection
The City of Kannapolis provides solid waste collection once a week to each resident. To view collection schedule, please click here.
Residents are issued one 96-gallon roll-out garbage container. Containers should always be placed at the curb by 7 a.m. on the regularly scheduled pickup day to ensure collection. For those residents that require a second container, they can be purchased by contacting the Water Sewer Billing Office at 704-920-4399. There will be a one-time charge of $55.00 for the container and a fee of $2.50 per month added to your water bill.
Construction or remodeling debris, tires, paint, motor oil, batteries, car parts or any hazardous waste, concrete, brick or other items generally related to remodeling such as sinks, commodes, bathtubs and large amounts of carpet will not be collected. These items must be taken to a landfill. Call 704-920-2950 for information about the Cabarrus County landfill; 704-278-2211 for information about the Rowan County landfill and 704-938-3213 for information about the Rowan Recycling site located at 614 W. 8th Street.
