Downtown Water Project to Begin

During the next several months (between January and September of 2010), the City of Kannapolis will be working to upgrade all the water lines downtown. This is part of an ongoing process to continue untangling utilities from the Old Cannon Mills Complex.

The current lines were installed between the 1930s and 1950s and have come to the end of their lifespan. Replacing these lines will help the City keep its infrastructure up-to-date and modern and it will also help provide better fire protection.
