Street Department

The mission of the Street Department is to coordinate the efficient and effective delivery of street services such as planning traffic systems, street maintenance, traffic engineering, sidewalk construction and repair, curb and gutter construction and repair, storm drainage maintenance, street lighting and traffic signs and markings.

The Street Department, with 25 employees, is also responsible for overseeing the solid waste collections contract with Waste Management, Inc. and yardwaste pick-up.

City crews are housed in the Public Works Operations Center (PWOC) at 1401 Bethpage Road. The 66,000 square foot facility houses water and sewer and street department operations staff and the city's specialized trucks and equipment.
